People Management Magazine ‘problem solvers’

I was asked to contribute to ‘dear problem solvers’ section of the Spring 2023 People Management Magazine.
In this section, readers send in a work issue or problem and three HR professionals are asked to respond. This months problem was about well being and mental health.
I was one of the people asked to respond and the article can be read here
Some of the key points I discussed were
role modelling well being practice
checking for signs of burnout within the HR team
Manage boundaries to help support well being of HR team and leaders
Consider what well being initiatives are in place
What well being initiatives can be achieved in terms of budgets, values, skills and time
create space to listen to what employees want and need
Use questionnaires or focus groups to research what support people need
approach with a curious mindset so that you are open to understanding what others may need
